The last thing you want to worry about after buying a brand-new motorcycle is maintenance. However, to keep your new model in top condition, you’ll need to perform a variety of important maintenance tasks throughout its service life. Thankfully, if you follow our helpful preventative care guide below, your motorcycle’s upkeep should be minimal, and your model is guaranteed to last a lifetime!

Keep It Clean

Don’t forget that dirt and grime can quickly build up, leading to rust and corrosion appearing on your new motorcycle’s sensitive metal parts. Thankfully, there’s an easy way to prevent this issue! Simply give your model a good scrub every 6 months or so, being sure to use an effective polish and wax afterward.

Fluids

While fluids don’t need to be flushed very often, it’s still important to check reservoirs regularly to ensure you’re not low, and that the fluids are still in good condition. On top of your engine oil, you’ll also need to inspect your brake fluid, transmission fluid, coolant, fork oil, and hydraulic fluid at least once every 6 months.

Tires

While your new motorcycle should come with an all-new set of rubber tires, to ensure you don’t end up replacing them prematurely, be sure to give them a quick examination every 3 months. Top off the air if your tire’s pressure is reading too low, and make sure that there aren’t any objects stuck in the tread that could lead to a flat.
